Does our circadian rhythm determine more than we know?

Simply, there is evidence that injury that occurs between 8pm -8am takes twice as long to heal as those occurring in the daytime ( because the cells involved in the healing process are basically obeying nature's call to sleep at night!). Yes, fibroblasts were involved in this stud y, but could the others cells do same? The interesting angle for me is the extrapolation to neurological injury. Neuronal suicide as a step in Alzheimer's disease pathogenesis

  Neuronal suicide is found to be implicated in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease, a common chronic degenerative brain disease. A lot of research is ongoing around this condition with potentials for new treatment options. It's notable that work on Alzheimer's disease in Nigeria and Africa lags behind global trends.
